Activities for Clients

Here at Oakleaf we have various different activities, groups and workshops that you might like to get involved with. It might be to learn new skills, find a new hobby, or just to meet new people and get out and about. Have a look at the schedule of events below to see what is going on this month.

We currently host activities in Guildford Town Centre, North Guildford, Waverley and Surrey Heath. You may also download the full calendars here. (Please note that the calendars are on 4 pages)

Pilates in Godalming

Pilates is an excellent form of exercise that focuses on balance, posture, strength and flexibility. Following the success of our sessions in Guildford we are hosting Pilates in central Godalming!

It is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels, so come along and try out something new.

Wellbeing Trial
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We are very excited to announce our latest course ‘Wellness for Everyone’.

This is a Free comprehensive 12 week course that is led by our fitness instructor Tony. As a qualified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach Tony has put together a plan that is focused on helping people make healthier lifestyle choices. Using a mixture exercise and diet tips this course aims to help people live a healthier way of life.

River Walk
2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Walking is a great way to keep fit, meet new people and of course take in the picturesque countryside! The group meets two Mondays every month and dogs are welcome too!

Yoga in Camberley

Our yoga sessions are designed to promote good mental health, manage anxiety and help you deal with stress. You will need to wear clothes that aren’t too restricting. Yoga mats provided if  needed!

Yoga in Godalming

We’ve all heard that yoga is good for you, and for those of us that have tried it have discovered that it makes us feel better. Regular practice can offer all kinds of mental and physical health benefits. Some, like improved flexibility, are clearly evident. Others, including mental clarity and stress reduction, may be more subtle but are just as powerful.
When put together, all the benefits contribute to an increased feeling of well-being.

Oakleaf will be holding Yoga sessions in central Godalming every Monday at 4:15pm.

You will need to wear clothes that aren’t too restricting, mats will be provided. Beginners welcome.

This is a Free comprehensive 12 week course that is led by our fitness instructor Tony. As a qualified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach Tony has put together a plan that is focused on helping people make healthier lifestyle choices. Using a mixture exercise and diet tips this course aims to help people live a healthier way of life.

Pottery/Ceramics in Farnham
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

This ceramic sessions will include construction techniques, pinch pots, coiling, slabbing, slip casting and throwing followed by decorating techniques, using slips , sgraffito, marbling and mixing and applying glazes.

Every Tuesday at 2pm you get the opportunity to meet new people and learn a new skill that can improve balance, flexibility and reduce stress.

It’s proven to help with stress, anxiety, depression and addictive behaviours, and can even have a positive effect on physical problems like hypertension, heart disease and chronic pain.

After the success of the last course we are very excited to have the Centre of Psychology coming in to do a 5 week Anxiety Management Course. Each session will last an hour and a half and you must attend all five weeks to join the course.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice which aims to improve general health and well-being. It is a type of meditation – a way of calming the mind and body in this ever crazy world we live in! Some people find a personal spiritual side to it, others use it for relaxation and strengthening the body and mind.

It is never too late to start learning Tai Chi. You will be amazed with what you can achieve in a short space of time!

Dance Therapy in Park Barn
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Our new Dance Movement therapy sessions aim to provide a supportive and safe space where movement and dance will be used to explore aspects of your emotional, psychological, social and physical self in both a group setting and 1:1 atmosphere.

By providing an opportunity for being creative, considerate and playful, the sessions will establish a sense of supportive therapeutic alliance and integrate various themes catered towards the clients wants/needs. All sessions take a similar format and begin with a short check in and warm up, followed by simple and creative movement tasks, often involving music and props. Verbal reflections and written/ drawn reflections will also be incorporated for clients to track their own developments during the session and towards the end, where a short closure will follow.

No dance experience is required whatsoever! Added benefits of the sessions aim to improve body awareness, confidence and self-esteem, alongside getting endorphins flowing and at times gently increasing physical fitness.

Sessions are free but booking is required so please speak with Kelvin to book your place.

Drawing Class in Godalming
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Come along to our Drawing Workshop and learn how to draw from still life using easy to learn techniques. Drawing is a great way to stay calm and reduce anxiety.

This class is suitable for beginners but booking is required so please speak with Paul in client services.

Shaun Attwood Talk
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

We are very excited to have our patron Shaun Attwood come and give a motivational talk. Author of ‘Party Time’, ‘Hard Time’, ‘Prison Time’, and most recently a self-help book called ‘Lessons’, Shaun is perhaps best known for his worldwide appearance on the National Geographic Channel’s documentary ‘Banged Up Abroad,’ where he recounts his time served in the notorious Arizona Department of Corrections.

As well as sharing what he has learnt, Shaun will welcome questions from the audience! If you have any questions you would like to ask please give them to Client Services in advance!

This is expected to be an extremely popular event so please speak with Client Services to book your place!
