Our gardening department teaches clients the basics of soft and hard landscaping and garden maintenance. Your client will work with our trained and qualified staff learning about:

• Lawn management
• Planting, pruning and weeding
• Turf-laying
• Pergolas and gazebos
• Decking
• Paths and patios
• Walls and fences
• Ponds
• Estimating costs of jobs and sourcing materials

This department is very hands on, and every day is different. The client will be working on real customers' gardens, and will have access to a nursery where we grow many items for sale on our stall at the monthly Guildford Farmers' Market. We have previously worked closely with Merrist Wood College to provide our clients with horticulture related qualifications and hope to be able to do this again in the future. As clients become more experienced, they will be able to look at applying for the following roles: garden centre worker, grounds maintenance contractor, landscape contractor, parks, gardens and green space officer.
