Activities for Clients

Here at Oakleaf we have various different activities, groups and workshops that you might like to get involved with. It might be to learn new skills, find a new hobby, or just to meet new people and get out and about. Have a look at the schedule of events below to see what is going on this month.

We currently host activities in Guildford Town Centre, North Guildford, Waverley and Surrey Heath.

Mindfulness in Farnham
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, using techniques like meditation, breathing and yoga. It helps us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings, so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, we are better able to manage them.

Practising mindfulness can give people more insight into their emotions, boost their attention and concentration and improve relationships. It’s proven to help with stress, anxiety, depression and addictive behaviours, and can even have a positive effect on physical problems like hypertension, heart disease and chronic pain.

The sessions will be held every Wednesday afternoon in central Farnham.
NO COST – sessions are free
Everyone welcome, come along to help you manage stress, anxiety or anger better.

Taking place at 6:30pm each workshop will last 1 hour and is completely FREE of charge.
This workshop will focus on how to Cope with Anger and will be held at St Marys Church. There is only a maximum of 12 spaces per workshop. Therefore, it is advised that you contact Kelvin on 01483 303649 as soon as possible to book your space and to avoid disappointment. You do not have to attend all five but you may do so if you feel you will benefit

We’ve all heard that yoga is good for you, and for those of us that have tried it have discovered that it makes us feel better. Regular practice can offer all kinds of mental and physical health benefits. Some, like improved flexibility, are clearly evident. Others, including mental clarity and stress reduction, may be more subtle but are just as powerful.
When put together, all the benefits contribute to an increased feeling of well-being.
Oakleaf will be holding Yoga sessions in central Farnham every Thursday at 1:30pm.
You will need to wear clothes that aren’t too restricting, please bring your own mat if possible otherwise we can provide some. Beginners welcome.

Sound Therapy Farnham
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Charlie will guide you through a 1 hour Healing Meditation to help reach a deep relaxed state as the harmonics, frequencies and vibrations of the Tibetan Bowls will take you to your own place of healing and reintegration. No matter where you are in your personal practice as a beginner or more experienced or if you are simply looking for peace of mind, mental clarity, relaxation or searching to deepen your level of spiritual awakening, these classes are for everyone where you will allow yourself to let go, relax, integrate and heal. For you to be as comfortable as possible so please wear clothing you’re happy lying down in and please bring a Yoga/Pilates mat, pillow for head or under knees, blanket and water.

It can be beneficial to those who have experienced mental disorders, emotional abuse, cancer, post traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), people who are bi-polar, and a variety of other serious ailments.
Our Art Tutor Louise will guide the group through painting, drawing and water colours.
