Activities for Clients

Here at Oakleaf we have various different activities, groups and workshops that you might like to get involved with. It might be to learn new skills, find a new hobby, or just to meet new people and get out and about. Have a look at the schedule of events below to see what is going on this month.

We currently host activities in Guildford Town Centre, North Guildford, Waverley and Surrey Heath.

Anxiety Management Course in Guildford
11:00 am – 1:00 pm

After the success of our last course we are very excited to have the Centre of Psychology coming in to do a 5 week Anxiety Management Course. Each session will last an hour and a half and you must attend all five weeks to join the course.

Whilst the course is free spaces are limited so please speak with Kelvin if you would like to book a space.

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Join Oakleaf on a trip to the gym where we will get to use all the equipment in a 1 hour session paid for by Oakleaf. It will be a great way to feel comfortable around gym equipment in a safe space with people you know! If you would like to know more speak with Kelvin or Annalise for more information.

Yoga in Godalming

We’ve all heard that yoga is good for you, and for those of us that have tried it have discovered that it makes us feel better. Regular practice can offer all kinds of mental and physical health benefits. Some, like improved flexibility, are clearly evident. Others, including mental clarity and stress reduction, may be more subtle but are just as powerful.
When put together, all the benefits contribute to an increased feeling of well-being.

Oakleaf will be holding Yoga sessions in central Godalming every Monday at 4:15pm.

You will need to wear clothes that aren’t too restricting, mats will be provided. Beginners welcome. Costs £2 a session.

Led by a qualified singing instructor Tim. These are a great way to improve breathing, posture and overall mental health and well-being. They are also a great chance to make friends, have fun and you do not need any singing experience.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice which aims to improve general health and well-being. It is a type of meditation – a way of calming the mind and body in this ever crazy world we live in! Some people find a personal spiritual side to it, others use it for relaxation and strengthening the body and mind.

It is never too late to start learning Tai Chi. You will be amazed with what you can achieve in a short space of time!

The sessions will be held in Central Farnham. You will need to book your space as spots are limited!

Mindfulness in Godalming
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, using techniques like meditation, breathing and yoga. It helps us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings, so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, we are better able to manage them.

Practising mindfulness can give people more insight into their emotions, boost their attention and concentration and improve relationships. It’s proven to help with stress, anxiety, depression and addictive behaviours, and can even have a positive effect on physical problems like hypertension, heart disease and chronic pain.

The sessions will be held every Tuesday at Café Mila in central Godalming.
NO COST – sessions are free
Everyone welcome, come along to help you manage stress, anxiety or anger better.

We are delivering evening workshops that will offer tools and tips on how to manage emotions.
Taking place at 7pm each workshop will last 1 hour and is completely FREE of charge.
There is only a maximum of 10 spaces per workshop. Therefore, it is advised that you contact client services on 01483 303649 as soon as possible to book your space and to avoid disappointment. You do not have to attend all six but you may do so if you feel you will benefit

We are extremely excited to have Guildford College come to deliver a basic literacy course with our clients. The course is completely FREE of charge and will run throughout the academic year.

Wellbeing walk Camberley

We have started a walking group which runs every other Wednesday from 1pm-3pm

The group will meet outside of Frimley lodge park . It is a great way to get fit, meet new people and enjoy a nice stroll along the canal.

The aim of this FREE 8 week course is to help you look at what confidence
is, how to increase your confidence and how to overcome
certain difficult social situations, whilst managing your mental
health condition. It is also a great opportunity to meet other people and get to know them as you go through the course together.

It is the perfect opportunity to ask questions, pick up some tips on how to improve the pictures you take and to meet new people who share an interest in taking great pictures.

Pilates is an excellent form of exercise that focuses on balance, posture, strength and flexibility. It is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Spaces are limited so be sure to speak with Annalise if you would like to come along!

Everyone is welcome, no matter what your maths skills are. This course will aim to build confidence in a small group, and be fun at the same time!
