World Mental Health Day – The Firewalk
Date: 10 October, 2019
In celebration of World Mental Health Day, Oakleaf hosted one of its hottest fundraising challenges yet – the Oakleaf Firewalk.
On 10th October 2019, we challenged daredevil supporters to focus their mind over matter by walking on hot coals to show their commitment to better mental health in the Surrey community. Guildford Cricket Club saw a great turnout, with 40 participants signing up to be a part of the event. We were blessed with lovely weather and had fantastic support from our clients, volunteers and local businesses, including; Metro Bank, Kelly’s Storage, Lovetts Solicitors, Delivered Social, and The Samaritans. Our Patron Penelope Keith was also in attendance, handing out certificates to all those who successfully completed the Firewalk.
It was an incredibly action-packed day, so we would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part and willingly faced their fears in order to raise vital funds for our charity.
