Mental Health Training & Awareness

Mental Health First Aid Training

What is Mental Health First Aid?

MHFA is an internationally-recognised training course that helps you manage wellbeing and minimise the impact of mental ill-health on work and life. The training courses teach people to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, offer initial help and guide a person towards support.
We have training options to suit a range of timescales and budgets, designed to benefit employees, line managers, HR professionals and senior leaders alike–to empower all your people to meet challenges in the organisation head on.

Stress, Anxiety & Depression

These are the biggest causes of workplace sick leave in the UK. Mental health problems are responsible for 91 million working days lost each year. Employers across the UK are acting to support the wellbeing and mental health of their employees. Would you like to do the same? This is where Oakleaf can help.

“I completed the 2-day MHFA course with Oakleaf during the pandemic. I found the course incredibly interesting and helpful, I learnt so much and feel confident I have the knowledge to be able to help and advise anyone in need of support. The course was very engaging, and the instructor was fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend this course, it’s such so important to have a mental health first aider at companies (especially after the pandemic) and knowing the cost of the course goes straight back to Oakleaf makes it even more worthwhile.”
– Victoria Creswick, Redbox Group
“Myself and two of my colleagues took part in the 2 day Mental Health First Aid Course arranged by Oakleaf. Before going into the course we all felt a little out of our depth when it comes to helping people that might be struggling with their mental health. However now we feel a lot more confident in assisting someone who may be in crisis or struggling with their mental health. It can be a very taboo topic and something that a lot of us feel intimidated to approach but it is a very important one and something that a large number of people struggle with. It was a great course, one I would definitely recommend to take part in if you have the opportunity to.”
– Amy Tilley, Lovetts Solicitors

Mental Health Awareness Sessions

In addition to Mental Health First Aid training, Oakleaf offers several mental health awareness session options to give employees increased knowledge, awareness and confidence to support the mental health and wellbeing of their colleagues and themselves.
“We have been very pleased with the sessions delivered by Oakleaf on Mental Health Awareness. We have run several sessions, some aimed at our line managers specifically and others which invited all employees to participate. Jen Clay, our presenter, was able to tailor the sessions to our needs and focus the presentations on relevant topics for our organisation, balancing the sometimes difficult topic of discussing mental health with compassion and understanding. Feedback from individuals has been extremely positive and we look forward to continuing to work with Oakleaf in the future.”
– Kayleigh, Head of Human Resources at the Salvation Army International Headquarters
